Colorado Uranium Mining Projects – San Miguel In this section:

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Uranium Energy Corp’s San Miguel Project is approximately 22 miles from Naturita, Colorado. The Project is located in T48N, R17W in Montrose County. The Project consists of 3 non-contiguous claims (Betty 2,4 and 10) located in Section 10, and is adjacent to Department of Energy Lease Bid C-AM-Tract 19A, Section 18 and 19, T48N, R17W. The Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation in the Uravan District is composed of a series of terrestrial sandstone, siltstone and mudstone lenses that range from a few hundred feet to several miles in length and as much as several thousand feet in width. In the San Miguel Project area the Salt Wash is approximately 300 feet in thickness. The sandstone is predominately medium grained, with localized pockets of carbonaceous trash and carbonized logs. The channel system contains both a northeast and southeasterly trending channel systems. The arrangement of the sedimentary trends is the result of shifting channels of the Salt Wash streams. There appears to be a strict relationship between the ore body axis and the sedimentary depositional trends. The principle uranium-bearing sandstone lens or lenses in the area are approximately within the upper hundred feet of the Salt Wash Member, and contains the largest uranium-vanadium deposits in the area.
