Squaw Point

Colorado Uranium Mining Projects – Sqaw Point In this section:

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Uranium Energy Corp’s Squaw Point project consists of 283 acres of private leased land, more or less, in Section 12, T38N, R20W and Section 7, T38N, R19W, Dolores County, Colorado. The Project is located on Squaw Point between Papoose Canyon to the west and Cross Canyon on the East and is on private land. The Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation is 300-400 feet thick in the Squaw Point area and consists of an upper and lower sandstone sequences separated by thin mudstones and sandstones. The thick sequence of interconnected sandstones and interbedded siltstone and mudstones were deposited in a fluvial paleoenvironment which served as conduits for fluids transporting vanadium and uranium. The uranium mineralization is in the lower Salt Wash lenticular sandstone and is associated with some detrital carbonaceous material. The historic deposits are flat lying tabular deposits and appear to have good continuity. The area was extensively drilled by Western Nuclear. (Western Nuclear, Inc., interoffice report, 1985). UEC plans to verify the mineralized trends developed by Western Nuclear.
