Lake Canyon

Utah Uranium Mining Projects – Lake Canyon In this section:

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Uranium Energy Corp’s Lake Canyon Project, is located along the SE side of Monument Canyon in Montezuma Canyon Mining District, San Juan County, Utah. The Project consists of 20 claims (Utah 1-20) in Sections 25, 26 and 35, T36S, R24E and two State Sections 36, T36S, R26E and Section 2, T37S, R25E (1680 acres). The Project is named after Lake Canyon that is adjacent to the two State sections. The Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation in the area of Lake Canyon is a light colored, massive, cross-bedded, lenticular sandstone, interbedded with reddish siltstone and mudstone lenses. The Salt Wash is 200 to 450 feet thick in the area. The largest and thickest uranium deposits are in the thick sandstone lenses associated with abundant carbonaceous trash near the middle of the unit. The mineralization is lenticular in shape and parallel bedding about 2 feet thick, to 4 to 10 foot lenses, that may be as much as 20 to 40 feet in length. Ore minerals include roscochite, carnotite, metatyuyamunite, and other uranium-vanadium minerals, all of which point to oxidation of earlier ore minerals. The vanadium to uranium ration is 1:3.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS - UEC has recently added a total of 10 State of Utah Sections (5,002 acres) adjacent to their Lake Canyon Project Within the Montezuma Uranium Mining District.
